We strongly recommend participants purchase a human genetics textbook.  We suggest one of the two following:

• Human Heredity: Principles and Issues (6th or 7th Ed.) by Michael R. Cummings

• Human Genetics: Concepts and Applications (6th Ed.) by Ricki Lewis

  • Available through BarnesandNoble.com and Amazon.com

Required Readings:
Before you arrive for the program, we strongly recommend you read the selected readings from one of the two recommended textbooks.  This is to familiarize you with basic genetic concepts.  We will build upon these basic concepts during the program.

• Human Heredity: Principles and Issues (6th or 7th Ed.) by Michael R. Cummings 

  • Chapters 2, 8, and 9.

• Human Genetics: Concepts and Applications (6th Ed.) by Ricki Lewis

  • Chapter 2 (Sections 2.1 and 2.2), Chapter 3 (Sections 3.2 and 3.3), Chapter 9 and 10.
