Frequently Asked Questions
The Summer Program in Genetics is
now open to graduate audiology program faculty,
clinical supervisors, and practicing audiologists.
We encourage all audiologists who are interested in
advancing their knowledge about the genetics of
deafness to attend.

When is the application deadline? |
Please download and
complete the application form and return it to our
program office. No letters of recommendation,
intent, or CVs are required at this time. The
deadline for application was June 1, 2006.

What will be my responsibilities as an
attendee? |
- Attend all classes.
- Perform the required follow-up
activities during the year following the summer
program (faculty are asked to develop a brief plan to infuse more
genetics content into your audiology courses and
clinical audiologists are encouraged to educate
others in the practice about genetics and to refer
to genetic providers as appropriate).

Can I receive continuing education
units? |
Yes, participants can receive 3.8
continuing education units from the American
Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Participants
will be expected to attend ALL scheduled days of the
program.

A discounted hotel rate is
available through the Genetics Program at
Kellogg Conference Hotel at
Gallaudet University. Rooms reserved
through the Genetics program are $89 per night.
This rate applies to both single and double-occupancy
rooms.
