What criterion must be met for me to be eligible for the program?

The Summer Program in Genetics is now open to graduate audiology program faculty, clinical supervisors, and practicing audiologists.  We encourage all audiologists who are interested in advancing their knowledge about the genetics of deafness to attend.

When is the application deadline?

Please download and complete the application form and return it to our program office.  No letters of recommendation, intent, or CVs are required at this time.  The deadline for application was June 1, 2006.

What is the cost of the program?

Tuition is $465 for the 3-credit hour program plus a $20 application fee.

What will be my responsibilities as an attendee?
  • Attend all classes.
  • Perform the required follow-up activities during the year following the summer program (faculty are asked to develop a brief plan to infuse more genetics content into your audiology courses and clinical audiologists are encouraged to educate others in the practice about genetics and to refer to genetic providers as appropriate).
Can I receive continuing education units?

Yes, participants can receive 3.8 continuing education units from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.  Participants will be expected to attend ALL scheduled days of the program.

Is lodging on the Gallaudet campus available?

A discounted hotel rate is available through the Genetics Program at Kellogg Conference Hotel at Gallaudet University.  Rooms reserved through the Genetics program are $89 per night.  This rate applies to both single and double-occupancy rooms.
