'To be' verb forms--am, is, are

Short Answer Questions



1. Type out the 'to be' verb that is needed. Present tense, type one word only.
He ( ****** ) a doctor.

2. A first person subject ('I') needs 'am.'
I ( ******** ) very proud of myself today.

3. A second person subject ( 'you' ) needs 'are.'
You (********) a very nice person to help him like that.

4. 'He, she, it' or a singular person or thing (dog, man, etc.) needs 'is.'

5. The first person plural subject ( 'we' ) needs the verb 'are.'

6. The third person plural subject ( they, the men, the dogs) needs the verb 'are.'

7. The verb is the same whether you have an adjective or an 'ing' verb.
