Things to Talk About
(From the American English Institute at the University of Oregon)
![]()
This list of "Things to Talk About" is a good ice-breaker for you and your student. These are optional ideas for the initial writing sample this semester. Students and tutors should each pick one of the topics and discuss it during the initial tutoring session. Next, each of you should write out a brief paper on the topic you have chosen, then share your written narratives with each other. Later in the semester, you can refer to this list for other topics to write about or talk about. Enjoy!
