Tutoring Students can get ongoing one-on-one tutoring services for selected courses during the regular academic year. Come to SAC 1221 to fill out an application. We are currently accepting applications, however, most one-on-one tutoring will not start until September 17, 2007. Location: SAC 1221 Hours: Monday - Thursday, 9:00 a.m. - 9 p.m. and Friday 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Language Advice Language Advisors work with undergraduate and graduate students who want help with all kinds of academic writing, reading and signing. Using English and/or ASL, Language Advisors give feedback and offer guidance on coursework, research papers, essays, abstracts, summaries, classroom presentations, book reviews, as well as business writing such as letters, reports, proposals and resumes. While Language Advisors do NOT edit or proofread papers, they do make suggestions on how students can make changes to their own writing projects in the areas of organization, grammar, vocabulary and clear communication. Short reports are sent to teachers if Language Advisors assist students with graded assignments. We do not provide feedback on take-home exams. Available by walk-in. If a paper is longer than four pages, a student may have to make an appointment for writing advice. This gives the Language Advisor time to prepare for the session.
